Several days ago I had posted a message about a theoretical loop, today it
happened and I think my user wasn't really at fault!

Possibly while in the process of subscribing to a mailing list, an email
message was sent to an account on my server by a "majordomo" address that
obviously doesn't accept incoming messages. My customer had an auto response
saying "john doe has received your message". this was sent to the majordomo
account which generated an undeliverable bounce, this happened over 5,000
times.

My overly exuberant boss was ready to charge the customer for spamming (I
love our TOS) until I discovered the loop.

Question:

This seems like something that could happen rather easily in the future, the
only thing that kept it from progressing further was a 5 meg limit on
mailboxes. Is there some way to keep such a loop from happening again? this
isn't the first time I've spent time cleaning up a stupid mess and it is
bound not to be the last with my current setup. HELP!!!!!!!!
