Some customers have reported problems with POP e-mail after
upgrading to IMail Server 6. We are working on a fix right now,
but wanted to make a workaround available to affected users right
away.

If you are having a problem with users receiving e-mail with POP3
after upgrading to version 6, you can either reinstall your
previous version of IMail Server, or you can follow this procedure
to revert only the POP server:

- in your IMail directory, rename pop3d32.exe to pop3d32.601
(you'll need this file to return to version 6 when a permanent fix
is available) - stop the POP3 service by typing (at a DOS prompt):
 net stop pop3d32
- download the 5.08 pop server from
ftp://ftp.ipswitch.com/ipswitch/product_support/imail/pop3d32.exe
into your IMail directory
-- At a DOS \imail prompt type (no --!):
-- pop3d32 -remove
-- pop3d32 -install

- restart the POP3 service by typing: net start pop3d32 ** not needed,
last step above should report 'Service installed and running'.

This procedure will leave all new functions of 6.0 except those
involving the POP server, such as APOP authentication.

When a future V6.0x patch is released, before attempting to run the
patch, rename pop3d32.exe to pop3d32.508. Rename pop3d32.601 to
pop3d32.exe. This will allow the patch to find the 'correct' pop3d32.exe
file and the patch will complete rather than fail with an error about
the 'wrong' file found.
