I suppose that "person" meant that if you were looking at an initial setup 
for DNS on NT, then go with 8.2.2.  It's no more difficult than 4.9.7 
(gotta read the same "cricket" book which covers both versions).

It's pretty clear that BIND 4.9.7 for NT by Larry Kahn works perfectly 
well.  And if you already were running that, there would be little to gain 
in changing to 4.9.7 unless you needed specific 8.x features.
