RE: [IMail Forum] test (SmarterMail import)

Our Imail server (dedicated recent box - bi-proc - 2 GB RAM) supports :
 
- 10-15 domains
- 5000 accounts stored in a SQL Server Database
- Declude as an antivirus
 
Antispam is provided by our domain name registrar
 
Our problems include :
 
- trouble with the webmail : bad encoding for french and messages unreadable with Eudora ; the webmail is rather slow and bandwith consuming
- bad contacts conversion during the upgrade process from 8.22 to 2006 for some accounts
- bad mailboxes conversion for a few accounts
- connection timeout with SMTP access for users of one of our domains that counts 4.000 accounts
- huge logs size : approx. 500-800 Mb a day !
- erratic events with our password-protected mailing lists : some messages are returned with the error "invalid password" although the password provided is OK
 
==> and all of the problems listed aboved are happening since the upgrade
==> we are very busy since then providing support to our clients. Time is money...

The way IMail handles data is the same since ever. The import code from SmarterMail will work with IMail 2006. I can't remember, if SmarterMail does import the address books from the web mail of Imail. If yes, this would fail since this data is now stored in a access database).


Please tell us, what kind of problems you have with IMail 2006. So far i know, the only unsolved issue is the not really fast webmail.

We are seriously looking in that way because many of our clients encounter various problems since we moved from Imail 8.2 to Imail 2006
