I'm afraid this one is driving me nuts... We are running iMail 5.06, with multiple virtual domains using an external database (Access). On two domains, we are having users report problems with people not being able to send them attachments larger than approximately 1 meg. I have tried changing the settings for the max message size and max mailbox size to both zero, and 10,000,000 with no change in symptoms. I've changed the defaults for the domain to both with no change in symptoms. The problem only occurs on inbound mail from other MTAs. Other iMail users on the same system can send large attachments to the mailboxes that (otherwise) have the problem without error. Sending a large attachment from an external MTA results in the external MTA receiving a "552 - Maximum Message Size Exceeded" message during the SMTP transfer. Nothing is ever logged to the SMTP log on the receiving end -- not even the attempt to receive the message, let alone the error. Even with the SMTP logging set to "Debug". One domain has had this problem on all of it's mailboxes for about 6 weeks. At one point I deleted the domain, re-added it, and set the mailboxes back up. This solved the problem for this user for around 2 weeks, and then it came back. No changes were made to the settings before the problem returned. I've attempted to solve it again by doing the same thing with no luck. I've tried deleting the domain and setting it back up using the iMail database instead of the external database with no luck. A second domain reported starting to experience the problem on Monday. They appear to be in the same situation and nothing I can think of to do has helped. I've double checked the settings in the external database. I've checked the registry to make sure it was set correctly. Does anyone have any ideas? I'd love to move to v.6 and see if it goes away, but 6.02 doesn't seem stable enough for us to run in production yet.
