Philip,
You may have set the Control Access on the SMTP Security such that the IP
address of the remote is not allowed to connect to the SMTP service. All my
experience with this shows the connection and error message happen BEFORE
you press any key. Maybe there is some other network problem that is keeping
the response form getting to you unless you do press a key.
