If you "View Source" on this message, you can see that a is indeed being entered.  I checked this against the "Squirrelmail" client I have available through an ISP and it apparently gives you a instead...

Good call, both.  I heartily agree that Joe user doesn't need to deal with it...

I'm not arguing that fact - just pointing out a possibility to the reason for it.

joe customer would not know that and I think this should function as any other application hitting enter means single spacing

HTML rules?  HTML editors use a format when ENTER is used;  SHIFT+ENTER is a single line drop..

Kevin:

I forgot to mention...  Why does a WebMessaging message double space when you hit enter at the end of a line?

Like this... ;o)

Thanx...

hi shaun,

yes, good request on personal groups in web messaging.

we are currently working on this and plan to demo at the Expert User Review Monday, May 15, 2006.  At this point, we don't plan on limiting the # of members in the Personal Groups but that may be a nice admin controlled feature.

looking into the other issues below.

bye for  now,

I've been looking around the webmail also. One nice feature I'm sure our customers would like to see is a grouping feature for contacts.  Just as Gil notes, Outlook Express has an option to create groups so that you can send mail to many people easily.  This would be nice to have in the webmail, maybe with a cap of 20-25 users per group, so that sending broadcast mails is not possible.

Thanks,

Shaun

Subject: [IMail Forum] Web Messaging evaluation...

I've been an MS Outlook Express user for many years, but I've recently cut over to Version 2006.3 IMAIL WebMessaging in order to evaluate its use as our company's primary email client.  I have many, many folders and use Message Rules extensively.  I've only been doing this for a week or so, but here are a few things I've found...

Scroll bar for email folder screen:

If you keep folder names fairly small, you're okay.  If not...  You can't tell if you have any messages in those folders, if you're using

message rules, because the message count is at the end of the folder name.  Resizing width of folder frame sometimes causes scrollbar length

to shrink so you can't get to the bottom folders...

Auto-fill:

I guess I'm just spoiled by Outlook Express' ability to fill out the remainder of an intended recipient's email address, based on the

characters you've already typed, if the recipient is in your address book.  Is it even possible to implement something like this in a Web

Messaging environment?

Message rules using subject as criteria:

I've seen some weird results where many emails with extremely dissimilar subject lines wind up in the same folder.  I had one folder for

Imail Forums that relied on the subject, for instance.  After a few hours it resembled my INBOX.  I switched that rule to use the TO:

criteria and all is well.

Attachments:

We're using a MITEL 3300 PBX which has the ability to forward Voicemail to email.  Works great with Outlook Express, but with iMAIL WebMail

all you wind up with is an attachment called "Download.aspx."

Mark all (in current folder) as read:

Again... I could live without this, but I'm so used to using it with OutLook Express that it'd be great if it were included.

Question:

I haven't been able to find the answer to this, so I'll ask it here.  How often does WebMessaging check for new email?  Is this a

configurable parameter?
