We don't have slow performance at all with our Broadcom's but we do have a memory leak which has been confirmed by another customer with a Dell. I think this still has to do with Imail's smtpd32 since ALL other network related functions work just fine. The NIC's check out just fine with diagnostics as well. I even bought a Dell switch to further minimize any claimed problems with the hardware.

What kind of NIC is in the server?  We always use Dell servers and several IMail admins on this list (including us) have reported very poor performance with Intel or Broadcomm Gb NICs and IMail.  With our last two upgrades, we had this problem and had to install a 3com NIC and the problems went away.

It doesn't make much sense, but it happened.  Several others (if they're still hanging around this list) can probably confirm it happened to them too.

Does the disk queue length clear out quickly?  Or does it generally stay
high until it spikes back to 100?  What does it indicate is the average?
