HOSTS and MX is the DNS Query The Stack means the DNS didn't respond..   Use the HOSTS file as Dave suggested but put in both the bare domain and the FQHN so mail will be delivered to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED]..   Eric S ----- Original Message ----- From: Dave Doherty To: Imail_Forum@list.ipswitch.com Sent: Thursday, September 21, 2006 4:23 PM Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] Forcing DNS lookup If you know they have a stable mx address at, say 1.2.3.4, you could enter into the HOSTS file of your IMail server the following line:   1.2.3.4    nara.gov   If you know the actual host name and address, you should use that instead:   1.2.3.4    mail.nara.gov   But your log seems to show that the system never tried to look it up in DNS.
