Thanks for the advice. I will try what you suggest. Unfortunately, nothing of any consequence is being logged in the event log other than the rather generic "service stopped unexpectedly".
Check the IMail log files. Lok for POP activity just prior to the POP service stopping. It might give you some clue as to what is causing the crash.
