Sharyn,
Yes, ICS contains
IMail Server as one of the components of the Suite.
Installing ICS would
overwrite your existing IMail installation, with the current version. So, no,
you cannot have the old version of IMail running in parallel with the new one
from ICS.
I've heard that you
can install ICS/IMail 2006 over a V7.x version and be successful, although we
only claim it works with V8.x versions. In the past, the same was true (only
back one major version), but almost always you would not have any problems
installing one newer by 2 major versions (V6 over V4 or V8 over
V6).
IMail/ICS is now
using a License Key technology and to get past the 30 day evaluation period, you
will need a license key beyond that time! So if you are really evaluating
IMail/ICS, I would recommend a different computer, so your existing one will
keep operating beyond 30 days (and without a full backup of the system, going
back to V7 could be a significant project).
Thanks for
evaluating ICS/IMail!

Subject: [IMail Forum] Imail Collaboration Suite and Imail 7.15
Hi,
I have some questions about Imail Collaboration Suite.
Is this the same as Imail 2006? I have been looking at the Ipswitch website but I'm not exactly sure if this is the same, and if not, what the difference is?
Also, I am currently running Imail 7.15.
Can one do an upgrade on this or is a fresh install necessary?
Can one run both Imail 7.15 and Imail 2006/Collaboration Suite on the same server with separate IP addresses/NICs and separate user accounts/Domains?
TIA,
Sharyn
