Dustin,
IMail and WSFTP servers can share the same 'IMail' database, but WSFTP
server does not yet know how to use an external DB, so your assumption is
not quite correct. An External DB cannot be 'shared' for IMail and WSFTP
Server.
When WSFTP Pro (Think its V5.0 and later) is used with WSFTP Server,
passwords are sent encrypted (or encoded, I forgot exactly which term the
devlopers used).
Certainly, you can install and run both on the same machine (been doing it
for over a year!).
