Set their new domain as an alias to the old domain.
Change the DNS records
wait a week
Optional: Remove the alias and rename the domain(note).

Dan Barker

Note: Renaming a domain is not difficult, but there are bunches of registry
keys to include. If you a comfortable with a text editor that does global
find-and-replace, it becomes quite simple.

remove the new alias
stop smtp
change the old domain to the new domain in all HKLM\software\ipswitch keys
rename the TopDirectory
start smtp

Subject: [IMail Forum] Account move

Good afternoon.

I have a client who is moving their mail accounts in house.
I'm running Imail 8.22. They will have exchange.
I'm would be very interested in any thoughts as to
how to do this with the least amount of pain and suffering.

I do not need to provide them with user names or passwords.
They have stated that when they call, all mailboxes will be empty.
So I'm looking for the best way to not trap any mail after the
switch, and proper redirection of any mail coming in right after the
change. As well as any issues you may have experienced.

Thanks in advance
John
