Hi, Although Windows 2003 now can call the defrag via a WMI script http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scriptcenter/topics/win2003/defrag.mspx I cannot tell it to stop defragging after a while. It will finish when IT want's to finish. I'd rather have the thing defrag every night for a hour (or two) and stop after that. What hasn't been done it can do the next day.
Anyone know of a way to do that? The objVolume.Defrag() method does not seem to take any parameters. Any other program doing it better? My mailserver is a Windows 2003 R2 server with plenty of RAM, it seems the disk access is getting to be the bottleneck eventhough I have the C: drive, with the spool and log files, as RAID 1 and the D: drive with th mailboxes as a 4 disk RAID 5. Logfiles get ZIPped every night.
