Thanks, Len, and anyone else who cares to help...
Sorry for the US provincialism--it's just 5am here in the eastern time zone,
and I've been up all night.....
AFAIK, it's set up the same as the old box--I have the monitors side-by-side
and can compare one-for-one. Here it is:
DNS: wra.net MX [0] pioneer.wra.net
mail CNAME pioneer.wra.net
pioneer A 205.133.103.4
we dropped the new box in at the same name and address as the old.
IMail (virtual host administration)
Official Host Name mail.wra.net
Aliases wra.net, pioneer.wra.net (this second one we added to the new box,
might not be desirable). There is only one IP.
The database worked, in as far as IMail created its table, and we appended
the username, password, and other fields from another table. IMail
recognizes we now have 651 users. But they can't authenticate via pop3 or
web messaging. We've tried with the services logging in under the system
account, and again as an IMail user, with rights to the DB. I'm ready to go
back to the bad box, but most of our users weren't getting their mail
yesterday, anyhow, so I'm not sure what's worse...
