We are trying IMail before purchasing.

Things were going pretty good with 2 fixed IP domains. One domain using the
imail registry for users. and the other set up with users in a SQL 7
database.

Normal sending and receiving mail works fine in both domains. Then we
noticed a problem. When users register for our message board they are sent a
welcome message via a version of Sendmail. We discovered that the welcome
messages were not being sent out on the domain using SQL 7 database.
Switched back to Imail registry database and it works fine.

Doing some test member signups we noted that users would get an error saying
the [EMAIL PROTECTED] name we use as sender of the welcome message was
rejected by the mailserver, yet it is a valid system name and can
send/receive email. If we also used any outdoors.net address for the new
user email address, that would be rejected by the mail server as well

Why would a name be rejected when sending mail via sendmail if in the SQL
server database but not rejected if in the Imail database, yet work normally
for regular mail operations?
