That happened to us, on two unlimited copies, where the maintenance has 
expired.

We just paid the annual maintenance fee at that point, and got the latest 
version DLed in the same day.  no farce.

"We" here straightened out ipswitch on this upgrade situ 18 months ago, 
vbg, and now it's a good, sane, fair policy.
