This last weekend I put the new 4.5 version of McAfee WebShield on my server
and it just sent me this message.
An email from <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, addressed to
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> , with subject [IMail Forum] Possible Active-X Virus was
infected with the virus WScript/Kak.worm in attachment unknown. The infected
attachment has been cleaned and quarantined.(from NAMPASERVER IP
XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX user SYSTEM running WebShield 4.5 '_')
For more information about this worm, go to
http://vil.mcafee.com/vil/wsh10509.asp.
After looking at the message I see that it wasn't actually dangerous, but
I'm very happy to see that I'm now protected from the majority of these
viruses. This version of WebShield appears to have better protection
against relay problems than the earlier version (based on what I was told by
others that used previous versions). I've only been running it for a few
days, but haven't had any problems yet.
