Hi,
What could cause relay denied messages? Here is what I have going. Our email
server here in our building (MS Exchange) accepts mail for domain1.com and
domain2.com addresses. Just today, we changed it (DNS records) so mail
addressed to a domain2.com address will be delivered to our co-located mail
server. The mail server there (IPSwitch IMail) has domain2.com mailboxes for
everyone in this building that forward to their corresponding domain1.com
addresses. So the idea is that mail sent to a domain2.com address is
delivered to our IMail server, then forwarded to its domain1.com address on
our Exchange server here in our building.
On the software side, I have relay completely wide open. There are no relay
filters on Imail. I can login to the Imail server's web interface as some
user, send a message to my own local account and it forwards correctly to
me. So I think the exchange side is okay in terms of mail relay.
I was wondering it might be a router or firewall issue at our co-location
site. What could cause these relay denied messages? Any advice would be
helpful. Thanks.
