The ODBCUSER.DLL that comes with imail will not do it, can't handle multiple
authentication requests and will not auto reconnect to the SQL server. We
are using ine posted here that was re-written and works well. Perhaps the
author will re-post the link.

No, that is not required but, be sure the field types and lengths are
exactly what Imail wants. Its in the Knowledge Base. Search for "External
Database"

If you design your tables correctly and follow the data types you should
have little trouble.
