Susan,

IMail will not delete email from a users mailbox unless the user either
downloads all the messges from the server, or a delete command was issued
for a particular message. There is a tool to delete by date, but the Admin
would have to perform a particular action in IMail Administrator for that to
happen. Since you did not do that, then I'm sure IMail is not doing that
itself.

Some sites (the ones you mention do this!) do a reverse lookup on the IP
address of the sending server and if they do not find a match of the name
the server uses in the HELO/EHLO line, they do not accept email. You need to
put a PTR record (for the mail servers IP) in your DNS to 'fix' this.
