had a problem like this just a couple of weeks ago on a 6.03 server...

 

take a look at the IP address used for the for the DNS servers used (look in the control_panel -> imail)

make sure these are valid and active servers. If there are multiple listed try removing all but one. You may

also require a reboot.

 

my understanding of this is that if the DNS server specified by the Imail server is not working then it will

default to the stack DNS ARP which only returns the A record (or in your case the website).

We have a problem reaching the mail server for the domain in the documentation below. My customer (cmba.com) is trying to reach hammondloan.com for smtp. Unfortunately, IMail (version 4.3) seems to want to connect to the web server:
