Ok, I need some assurance on my next project just to make sure I know what
to do and not cause a major nightmare for myself.
The Scenario: I currently have one IMail server and I want to setup a
secondary Backup Spooler server.
I've been told on what I needed to do (briefly) and I understand the
instructions on the IMail User's Guide for the most part, but I want some
more assurance :-) What I really would like is an example of a DNS setup &
Hosts file setup that will explain how I need to setup my servers.
For example, I want to continue using my existing server...let's call it
IMail #1 and just use the second one as a backup. I understand that my MX
record will reflect something like this:
10 (IP address) (imail.domain.com) = Primary Server
20 (IP address) (imail2.domain.com) = Backup Server
Now this is what the book says, but I want to know more specific on what
needs to go on which server's hosts file, etc.
Any info would be greatly appreciated....thanks in advance :-)
