I've recently connected IMail to a SQL Server 7.0 Database. It seems the
ODBC driver does not use the password as provided in the ODBC connection
setup. I discovered what was wrong by running odbcuser.dll under a
debugger. I think you can get around the problem by setting up the DSN in
the IMail Administrator External Database setup dialog. Instead of simply
using the default ("IMAILSECDB"), use a full-up connection string when
specifying the ODBC dsn like so:

IMAILSECDB;UID=<login>;PWD=<password>

Where:
<login> is the login name
<password> is the password on that login

You still need to set up your ODBC data source like normal.

I hope this helps!

Subject: [IMail Forum] odbcuser.dll for SQL?

Does anyone have an odbcuser.dll that was created for SQL 7? Or does the
newest Ipswitch version already support SQL 7?

Thanks,
Chris Terrebonne
