On IMail 6.03, with the SMTP Authentication patch, none of our users in
Virtual domains can seem to authenticate, with ANY client (Outlook Express,
Netscape, Eudora). Users in the one "numbered" domain are fine, but we can
find no combination of [EMAIL PROTECTED], username%domain.com, etc. that
will allow non-local users in virtual domains to authenticate. We've been
"working around" this problem by adding a "sending account" for each domain
to the "numbered" domain and instructing them to set ALL of their users to
this account for SMTP authentication (but not for POP, of course), but this
is an ugly solution, to be sure.

Netscape may always be problematic, but I can't understand why this doesn't
work for Outlook Express. In previous versions, it has worked in OE (albeit
pretty sporadically).

Any clues?

The server is running on Win2K, and all domains use an external database
(Access).

Thanks

- Chuck
