[IMail Forum] Telnet....a security issue.

Has anyone heard or read any reviews on the telnet alternative ssh? I haven't done to much research into it yet but got an email from my brother to do so ASAP. Apparently, it is a lot more secure and doesnt reveal sensitive info like passwords and such. The site I am checking into right now is http://www.freebsddiary.org/openssh.html.
