I also have a very similar error;
We are on a similar platform but have SP6a, the process ID (PID also in task
manager) rises in a dramatic way, once the PIDs reach 64k ish the box throws
errors in user32.dll this occurs for everthing that uses the desktop
including smtp32.exe resulting in potentially hundreds of errors and an
unusable box.
Pre service pack 6a the same thing caused a STOP 1x000000E error, we have
systematically upgraded everthing: Imail(6.03), latest mdac from MS (I think
it's 2.5), Compaq Soft\Rom packs all to no avail. We are monitoring the
memory usage\CPU utilisation using MRTG and find the box generally dies
before we even use half of th 576Mb of memory installed.
If I get any news I'll give you a shout,
Cheers
Bel
