I just went through the same thing earlier this week. With the help of Ron
from Humankind, I was able to get it working.
Create a tablespace in Enterprise Manager
Set SQL Server to do SQL authentication, not NT authentication.
Create an SQL user with permissions to the tablespace you created.
Create a system DSN, use the SQL user you created. Don't forget to set
TCP/IP as the method if you are not on the same machine.
Test this DSN.
Open IMail Administrator.
Select the domain and select external database.
Configure the external database.
Here's my example data:
Mailserver- veena.ttiweb.com
DSN name- ImailDB
SQL user- ImailExtDb
SQL User pw- a123
The IMail Administrator set up looks like this:
ODBC System Data Source Name:
IMailDB;uid=IMailExtDb;pwd=a123
Table name:
veena_ttiweb_com
All has been fine. Hope this helps.
