Sure you can, we are doing that now for our email gateway. I am at a college and we
use the Imail server as our email gateway.
All you have to do is:
create the domain that you want the imail to route for. IE albion.edu
then under the domain create the aliases (remember the addaliases command it will help
and save you a lot of time)
so when mail goes to your imail server and it goes to the domain, and looks under the
aliases file it will tell where to send the mail to. You can have Imail route messages
from the Imail server to another email server there. This would work if you are using
Windows email systems. Imail routes email great.
Make sure the DNS points the MX records to go to Imail first.
Our Imail server routed 60,000 email's in the last two weeks and it worked great.

Can someone let me know if are you able to set the imail server to relay
mail for a certain email address that is not part of the Imail server? not
just the IP address?
