Can I use only NAVIEG but no IMGate???

yes of course, but the pb is that all of these AV scanners don't have anti-relay (ie, "Relay for Addresses" type setting) so they run as open relays, the dumb@sses, so when you run the AV scanner  as the gateway SMTP server to Internet (in DNS as MX), then the spammers will kill you and/or the black hole services will black list you.

however, if you haven't bought NAVIEG yet, take a look at www.GFIcomms.com for Mail Essential for SMTP. It has anti-relay.  Not a huge "brand name", but GFI does good work.

Using IMGate as the gateway to internet solves the relay pb, AND gives you anti-spam defense so the traffic passed by IMGate to the AV + Imail machines is cleaned up, lessening the load on the AV scanner.  Nothing more stupid than AV machine scanning spam!
