I have a customer that uses us as her ISP connection to the Internet, but
uses a different company's server for mail - hence she uses my mail server
for a relay. The problem she is having is that when she sends a message
with an attachment (she uses Eudora Pro, I believe) the progress bar takes
hours to complete the send. I took a look at my server and there were only
3 things in the queue and the processor was at about 10%. Hmm...
So I had her send me a message with an attachment and it went thru just
fine. She can also send to someone in her company just fine.
My question is this: When I-mail is used as a relay, does it grab the whole
message from the client before it gets dumped off to the receiving server or
does it start sending the message bit-by-bit as it receives it from the
client? If it waits for the whole message to be uploaded before sending,
why would it be taking so long for her to upload the file to me? She is on
a 144 DSL to me and the attachments are below 150 KB's.

Thanks!

Matt
