Hello All, I wanted to know that how is load balancing used to distribute mail load on say 400 servers, just like hotmail, if I have a user by the name of [EMAIL PROTECTED] and the load is distributed to the other servers like mail1.domain.com, mail2.domain.com and so on, and the user exists on the 50th server, when he sends mail or checks using imap does the main server domain.com always have to be contacted first, if that is the case then there will be too much traffic on the main domain.com server and it will crash. what is the best way to handle such a load , is there some dns way of doing this ,i.e using MX record to automatically route the user to its destination server when he logs in, or the main server domain.com always has to be contacted?? Please suggest, and also is there a limit for imap usage of accounts that needs to be considered when creating a mail setup?? What is the best mail stats software to log and analyse the mail stats like average mail box usage, mail box size etc? Please respond any help would be great! ===== __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get Yahoo!
