The problem is that your client is using a proprietary Microsoft protocol. I don't
recall the exact details, but it sometimes sends E-mail using its own proprietary
format that can only be decoded by other Outlook users. The ".dat" file and/or
missing attachments is what happens in a normal E-mail client. If you need details to
back this up, go to msdn.microsoft.com and do a search with the appropriate keywords
(searching for terms such as "Internet mail service", and "TNEF" should give some
interesting information).

One particular virtual host on my server has a serious problem sending email
with attachments. The recipients of our clients email are receiving the
documents converted to a .dat file. Any type/size document is being
converted. There has also been cases where the document is never received.
Other virtual hosts on the server have not reported having these problems.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks!

Ryan
