six of one, half dozen of the other. vbg

I know a lot a people are scared and confused by DNS operations but for a
basic zone setup in 2 highly repetitive text files (just one line in
named.conf and one zone file copied from another zone file and edited in a
GUI GUI GUI NotePad editor vbg), DNS is simpler than setting up that same
domain in Imail's GUI (mailhost + mailhost alias + smtp + smtp security +
lists + aliases + knowing which GUI tabs NOT to touch + etc + etc).

I also think diddling NT tcp/ip settings ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS necessitates
rebooting NT (not cool on a busy mail server), which is not the case with
even extensive changes to BIND/NT or BIND/*nix.

what's your billing address?? vbg

Of course. I'm game for hosting the "abuse" of a proven and comfortable
threaded forum server like http://www.discusware.com/discus/demo/ and
defining a Imail/DNS/etc tree of topics in the left frame and the letting
people contribute to, not create, defined threads in the right frame. Then
the topic moderators (admin privileges available in discus) periodically
condensing their respective thread contributions into "consensus" threads,
which would still be available for more contributions and refinements, new
approaches.

The discussion board would be for discussion, that's what this list is for,
but it would used to extract from the Imail list the "best practices" into
a structured format. ie, you contribute to the Imail discussion board
under a specific to topic when you have something definitive to contribute,
not something to ask.

Let me know. I could set up discus on my FreeBSD/Listar/postfix machine but
I can't do all the topic moderation myself. I don't think we'd need the
$99 version, the freebie would probably do it.

How about this team of moderators for starters:
