Keith,
If you only need 'forward' email for a particular username in one of your
IMail domains, you might consider an 'Alias' and the 'addalias.exe', CLU.
Aliases are processed before usernames, so if you have both a user and alias
of the same name, the alias would forward the email and the user account (if
really needed) could have the other user info (like for LDAP). Aliases are
not stored in the external DB. You might want to add a field to the DB (only
after the 9 IMail uses!) to indicated there is one, or store the alias
address. Then when the user gets removed, some other action could be
performed to remove the alias.
However, if one of your users already has another email address and uses
that, you do not need an IMail address (user or alias) for them to continue
using that address. That mail would never come to your IMail server!
Adduser does not have the capability of adding any more info (i.e. for LDAP)
than the fields it uses. You would have to use some other method
(ldaper.exe, for inputing LDAP data found on the General tab, found on the
IMail Utilities page) to perform this action.
