There are a number of tools out there already. If you want to do something
on your own, here's what I 'think' I know. The key is the sysMMDD.txt files
in the IMail\Spool directory. I extract the following lines from each log:

The first tells you POP3 statistics by user (R=received mail, D=deleted
mail?, P=?). The ldeliver lines tell you about local delivery (who got it,
who sent it and the size). The rdeliver lines tell you about remote delivery
in the same form and the ldeliver lines. You can extract these using PERL or
a database program. Then you can report on pieces of mail received, pieces
sent, bytes sent, bytes received. The IMRTG program also graphs mail relayed
and login failures so that information is in the logs as well.
