If you are running W2k Server, you have a great FTP server built in as part
of IIS. Just set it up by right clicking on the server name and select new
then FTP. Add the user account to the operators and turn off Anonymous.

I don't know how others do it but I bring my users in one level above the
root of the domain. They then have an out of root area to use also.

Domain Folder (One for each web)
        htdocs (root of the web)

There is a lot of help in the W2K help files and in TechNet under IIS 5.0

Subject: [IMail Forum] ws ftp server

Would someone please outline the steps for setting up virtual ftp access
with WS FTP

I am using WIN2K and want to allow users to be able to upload files to their
virtual hosting accounts.

I have played around with WS FTP but can't seem to log in with an ftp
client. I am running IMail so I could use that data base or WS FTP's.
