Jeremy,

Upgrade to v6.04? Here are the IMAP entries from the v6.03 release notes:

o IMAP4
  - Corrected crash when parsing many embedded messages.
  - Corrected a crash when expunging many large messages.

The first one was found to happen when someone was trying to read a message that had
been forwarded via OE many times. Don't know what the exact count was, just fixed it.
The second was found when a user was trying to delete several hundred messages at
once. With 80k users, you could be seeing this in 6.02.
