I tested my machine, NT 4 SP5 PII 300, and it seems to happen to me as well.
The CPU returned to normal after the search resultes were returned to the
browser. In a mailbox that contained 37 messages and a search that returned
8 messages on a T1 connection, the process took about 1 minute.
