I am trying to figure out if I can use IMail to
provide an email forwarding service. The client user
information such as userid, password, email address
etc. is stored in an external database (MS Sqlserver).
This database is the only place where users register
and update their personal info.

I understand that IMail has its own user database but
I don't want my users to be aware of that. I am
looking for some way in which IMail can be integrated
with the user info in the Sqlserver database. One
possibility would be for IMail to fetch userid,
password and email address info from the Sqlserver
database. Another possibility would be for Sqlserver
to update IMail's database whenever a user's info is
updated.

The main thing is that the enduser should have to only
update his info once. I currently provide a web
interface for our users to register and update their
personal info in the Sqlserver database.

My platform is NT 4.0, IIS 4.0, Sqlserver 7.0

Has anybody done something similiar and can recommend
how to go about implementing this?

Thanks,
Rahul V. Herwadkar
