Does it have anything from a dual or quad processor machine?

My Problem is that when a user copies a big directory (for ex. 200 MB) on to or from
the IMAP server, then the processor time used is nearly 100%. Every other attempt to
do anything with the mail server takes long time or fails. Is it only necessary to use
the fastest processor on the market to minimize this time or does the IMail server
take any benefit from a dual or quad processor machine?
