Your backup software should have an option to backup open files. If not, put it in the
litter. :-)
My backup program has such an option, you can backup all open files. I use Veritas
Backup Exec.
If you can use this files to restore a mailbox state is an other thing. (The
corresponding files are not backed up at the same time)
If you need to do so, buy a program like Open File Manager.
It is a special case if someone is using his mailbox at times i back up the system
(during the night, between 2:00 and 3:00 on DLT). So it is acceptable that a mailbox
isn�t backed up on one day.

PS: there is also an Exchange Server client for Backup Exec.
