This is normal behaviour according to Ipswitch, it has nothing to do with disk speed, IMAP is processor intensive.

Answer from Ipswitch technical support:

Hi Hermann,

As you have seen, this mailbox transfer from client to server is very

CPU intensive.

Subject: [IMail Forum] IMAP Pegging the CPU

Hello,

Whenever anyone checks their mail on my Windows 2000 Server running iMail server via IMAP the server pegs the CPU.  Actually there are two CPUs and one gets pegged.  The server has 512MB RAM and is also acting as a file/print server for 30 users.  Any ideas?
