Len, in response to your question of why, we have about 500 data entry people who take e-mail addresses through our telemarketing operation. We recently discovered, as we attempted to expand our efforts into permission-based e-mail marketing, that we get about 20% bad addresses, many we suspect due to typos. We have a lot to do on the application side to do e-mail verification at the data entry level, and ultimately probably to immediately send an e-mail verification notice to a new customer, but my immediate need is to track the bad addresses/bounces so that we can later analyze for patterns. All part of the fun in merging our brick-and-mortar ops with our I-net ops. ;-) Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
