Method 2:
Since there will be some time when users will be on both systems, the only
way to do this is to create all the users in IMail and on each put a
'forward' in the form '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' where user is the user name
in CCmail, and ccmail.domain.com is the hostname of the CCMail server
(assuming it has a FQDN). Rather than users in IMail, you could create
aliases of the usernames (which only does the forward) and when that user
comes to IMail, you create the account and remove the alias.
I'd just bite the bullet and move all the users and email to the IMail
machine in one operation. Probably will take a couple of hours (depending on
how much email need be moved and how it is done), but it will be done. Do
this one evening and some time prior, sent all users email that tells them
when you will do it and how they need configure their clients on the next
morning, to get their email. You will probably spend more time overall,
making the move, using your method (but if it make you comfortable, use
it!).
