Kris,

It sounds more like a DNS problem to me. Anytime the IP works but the name
does not, usually means a name resolution problem. That only NS users have
the problem, seems pretty strange.

To test, open Telnet, enter the IP address and for 'port', enter 25. If you
connect (you will get a line from IMails SMTP service, type 'Quit' to exit
session), good. Disconnect and connect again, this time using hostname. Do
you get the same message from IMail? You should. If not then that name is
not resolving to the IP. Use Ping to see what IP it resolves to, if any.

It is also possible that the clients are using different DNS servers and one
can resolve and the other does not.

Subject: [IMail Forum] NETSCAPE

Quick question,
I recently had our DNS provider change the ip or one or our domains.
Now six days later all of my NETSCAPE users are unable to logon on to the
host name, but if i tell them to input the ip address in their incoming and
outgoing mail servers it works? My question is: Is this a problem with My
DNS, Mail Server, or Netscape?? None of my Outlook Express people are
having this problem?? Any suggestions?
Thanks,
