I have pretty well closed my Mail Server off to outside access (besides
going as far as specifying specific IP's) and I just had an interesting
situation which occured.

One of my customers in Canada bought Whats-Up for monitoring their stuff and
I just got an email sent by the program (using an unauthorized UserName and
Domain) and the email went through fine to a list which was set up for
subscription only (closed list).

I have IMail set up to only allow local users to send email and the customer
informs me that he did not put his standard user info in the setup.

My question is if there is something that I should know which allows one
IPSwitch program to interface with another when there is not an authorized
user??? Sorry if I sound paranoid but I fought an 'open-relay' problem with
the ORBS and MAPS databases (as well as WebTV) for almost 2 months closing
things off to everyone's satisfaction.

Steve
