We have a newsletter we do this with, but rather than setting up a list, we
publish the news letter as a web page on our site with access via a link we
send out in a short text based Email using the command line mailall
application.  It's advantages are that the actual traffic load is small for
the server.  The message it's self is small and easy on the client side and
works with any browser, no matter how old.  As for the news letter it can be
much more colorful and expansive in the HTML format with out there being a
size issue for it's dissemination.

I would recommend that any and all Imai admins become familiar with the
command line applications Imail has to offer.  They allow you a great deal
of ease and power over some of the other GUI based features.
