I don't know if it was a new feature in OE 5.02 but in Outlook Express 5.02
under the account's setup window. Click on "Click here for Advanced Sending
Options" and under there is an option for "SMTP Server requires
Authentication"
You can define a new username and password or use the pop username's u & p.
So, if you don't have this option, download OE 5.02 You can find it from
