IMail web messaging sometimes does not interpret the MIME segments in a way that it
will recognize the attachments. This is more likely to happen in complex MIME
E-mails, such as forwarding a full RFC822 E-mail rather than just the text of the
E-mail. When this happens, IMail just displays the actual MIME segment, which does
look like "garbage".
